Hi there! I’m melon!
I have mulled this idea over for so many months, hell even years, about how I could make an impact in the community. That led to a series of events which lead me here.
Sorry if this looks dry, its my first time and I just want to give my reasoning for what sparked the idea of a Substack, and what you could expect here.
1. What the F made you start this, now?
Well, a lot of things. For one, as a trans person, specifically a trans teen, I felt like I wasn’t making enough of an impact in the community (at least in my eyes). So I spent a couple of days, (code for months) for how I could make an impact. I saw people like Erin Reed and Alejandra Caraballo and so so so many others making an impact by standing up, making their voices heard and I felt like, if I wanted to make a change (or at least try to) I needed to have a platform and give myself a megaphone.
2. What kind of community are you looking to build here?
The community that I want to end up fostering, and what exactly I want to use this for, is a beacon of hope, information and a place where trans people and others can come for just an unfiltered piece. Now, I know most people are going to look at this and say:
What are you doing? You cant compete with the big dogs! Its too oversaturated! (spelling, yikes)
To that, I say, I don’t intend on competing with them. In fact, Erin inspired me to make this! Why would I compete with the person that sparked that fire? I just feel like those two, Alejandra and Erin, I followed their content, I saw the difference that they were making, and felt like, Ok, this is my community, how do I give back?
3. What is your upload schedule?
Don’t have one, sadly. Well, ehh. Its not like I made this for nothing, but I do not have a consistent schedule that I will stick to (I might make one soon), but for now, I will try to stick to a biweekly schedule.
4. Where does the name come from?
It isnt that hard honestly. I took my favorite color, crimson, and meshed it with the words queer and added diaries. That’s it.
Anyways, I really hope that you like this stupid little product that I made, and I really hope that my work can reach people that need an unbiased, unfiltered take. Especially now, considering that we are on the horizon of something scary.
Bye for now!
